5. SMS-BASED FINANACIAL DETECTION (ANDROID)

1 min read

Where available, Nance may request access to your SMS inbox on Android devices solely to identify financial messages that are relevant to the user-facing functionality of the app, such as spend tracking, transaction detection, dues, reminders, and related insights. This access is requested only where the feature genuinely depends on SMS-derived financial signals.

We do not seek SMS access for advertising, selling data, or unrelated profiling. We do not intentionally use SMS access to read OTPs, personal chats, or unrelated message content except to the extent such content is technically present in a message that you have allowed the app to process and the app must determine whether the message is financial in nature.

SMS-derived signals may be used as an early indicator of a transaction or liability before more authoritative financial-source data becomes available. Later refreshes may update, reconcile, merge, or replace SMS-derived records.
